Interview With Kaje Harper

Kaje Harper is a relatively new M/M author but in a very short period of time she has garnered lots of fans who flock to buy her books like The Rebuilding Year, Unexpected Demands, and Unacceptable Risk which are part of the reason she’s so popular. I understand that she’s writing up a storm and has a few books that are scheduled to be released very soon that I know you can’t wait to read.

I will be interviewing Kaje in mid to late September and she would love to answer questions from her fans. If you would like to find out what makes her tick or ask her about her upcoming releases please leave a comment on this post.

I will be forwarding your questions to Kaje along with mine in about a week so this post will be closed on Saturday, August 25th

As you know, she’s one of my favorite authors. I’ll have to see if I can come up with some suitably embarrassing *cough* I mean, interesting questions. :happydance:

ETA: I tried to be all clever and stuff, doing a strike-through on “embarrassing” but the comment box didn’t like my html.

You won’t be a fan long if you embarrass her. She’ll probably want to smack you.

Can’t wait to see your questions.

Is this where I leave questions? Sammy stumbles around, arms loaded with books by Kaje Harper, eyes slightly glazed just thinking about the third book in her Life Lessons series that is rumored to be coming sometime soon.

Uhm Wave?? I’m hoping this is the place–cause I need a rest what with carrying around all these lovely books.

Sammy flops down on the corner of Wave’s desk noting the various shots of “friday guys” strewn about and temporarily gets distracted, wondering about sausages and morning…er…coffee. Shaking herself, Sammy pulls out her notepad and begins:

!. Why wolves–there are loads of paranormals out there in the world–why choose to write about wolves in Unacceptable Risk and the sequel and what I secretly hope and maybe even pray will be a third in the series??

    2. (and this is a naughty question–ahem) Where is the favorite place for Mac to uhm…”do it” with Tony. :sex2: And for Tony??

    3. The Rebuilding Year–you took some heat on the “out for you” scenario on this one–why did you think it worked? And would you write another “out for you” themed story again? :???:

    4. Lastly (and a subject dear to my hear–sorry Wave) you have written some YA under a pen name–first off why the pen name and secondly, when do you anticipate releasing more ya stories? :forit:

Phew! Okay Wave. *Sammy stands up scooping up her stack of books and surreptitiously (sneaky) snatches up a few of the “friday guys” photos at the same time, thinking Wave will never miss a few.*

I’m off dear Wave–have reviews to write and post you know–busy girl I am!! What’s that Wave?? You want me to stay–you, gulp, miss me? :crying2: Oh Wave–you ARE such a softie–a proverbial marshmallow inside!!!

Don’t worry Wave that will be our little secret!! Ta-ta for now dear Wave!

Hi, I’m more than grateful for Kaje Harper’s books. She not only writes wonderful stories but she is more than gracious with her gift.

    My question:

You have released several free books, not only short stories or novellas, but real books and damn good ones, too. This is very generous. Why do you do it?

You do not shy away from bittersweet endings, for example “Full Circle”. It has left me emotionally drained. What about you as the writer, are you even worse or can you keep your distance better? And why?

    Sammy cracked me up! :hysterics:

Anything I say after that will be kinda boring, but I did come up with a few questions that hopefully won’t make Kaje hate me.

    My questions:

I saw that you’re planning at least a couple more Hidden Wolves stories. Will they each feature new pairings, or might one of those sequels have Simon and Paul as the MCs again? And what are the chances they might have children?

Any chance we might see that sequel to Full Circle any time soon? :forit: (And I love Sunne’s question about it, too)

Speaking of sequels, during NaNoWriMo you were working on a sequel to The Benefit of Ductwork. Is that something we might see any time soon? (Note: we really need a smiley with pleading puppy-dog eyes here!)

How do you decide which story to write next, or which project to work on at any given moment?

You’re wonderfully prolific, but is there anything we can do to help you write faster so we can get more of your stories sooner? :asap:

I actually have a question about Hidden Wolves series too. If it is a spoiler, feel free to ignore me… or not ;) At the end of the series, will we see significant changes in the wolves’ societal structure? And what is the reason (genetical or otherwise) that there are no women werewolves? Thanks.

I love Kaje Harper books. I want to know if she will ever write another story with Chris and Ian from Lies and Consequences?

    Kim Poland says:

    My questions:
Were Mac and Tony from Life Lessons based on real people?

Where do you find inspiration for your books?

    kiracee United States says:

Do you have a favorite character or story you have written?

Do you work on one story at a time, or do your plot bunnies breed like rabbits?

How much of the story do you know when you start writing – in other words, are you a pantser or a plotter?

I love Mac and Tony, the characters are writen so well and believable, how do you get your inspiration for them? What does your family (husband) think about your characters? do you ever get advice from them?
