Coming up this week November 11

This post will be short because we’re all exhausted. The site is back up, and starting tomorrow we’ll post reviews as soon as Lynn and Christian finish their testing. Thank you for sticking with us through our recent access troubles which I hope are behind us. For what we’re now paying in hosting fees, if anything goes wrong I’ll slit my wrists.

A huge thank you to my partners Lynn and Christian, without whom the site would still be inaccessible. They both worked to the point of exhaustion, especially Lynn who was still working when I went to bed at 1.00 A.M. (There’s a time zone difference of 9 hours between Lynn and Christian and I’m in the middle) :)

To all of our friends on the US east coast who suffered even more storm damage this past week, I hope you’re getting back to some semblance of normalcy today and that at least your heat and electricity have been restored. To residents of the hardest hit areas, I hope that the Red Cross is getting much needed help to you and your families. The organization collected $117 million in storm relief to date so hopefully some of it will be coming your way.

The US elections are over and President Barack Obama is back for 4 more years. To the states of Washington, Maine and Maryland – congratulations on voting for marriage equality, and also congratulations to the people in the State of Wisconsin for electing the first openly lesbian Senator, Tammy Baldwin. (Hope I got all of this right, if not I’m sure someone will correct me. ) :) I trust this is just the start of a movement that will continue.

Now on to regular business.

Jordan Castillo Price’s newest post called Dodging the Wall in her series Notion Potion will be live on Wednesday, November 14.

Our newest reviewer and Guest Contributor Stuart’s post that was scheduled for Friday, November 9 was postponed to Friday November 16 because we were offline. Don’t forget to check it out – it’s called  Is Male/Male Romance Fundamentally About Men? That should rock your socks. :)

I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to so many reviews within one week before! And the response time on the site is fab-u-lous!! Thanks everyone for your hard work. It is appreciated.

      Hi Susan

We have a lot of reviews to meet the pent up demand. I’m very happy that the new host seems to be worth the money so far.

As I said on the other post, it’s good to have you back Wave.

I see that you’re giving away a Josh Lanyon audiobook this week. I only have one of his so far, but really liked the experience. He now has several available and more in the works, but I’m trying to pace myself.

And thank you for the good wishes (and e-mails) during the hurricane and aftermath. Although there are some 59,000 homes without power locally, and many coastal towns that are still uninhabitable (not counted in that number), things are slowly returning to more like normal for most people.

      Hey once again Teej

I’m so happy to at least be able to talk to everyone online – something that was impossible a few weeks ago.

I’ve never listened to an audiobook however I picked up one at GRL – my favourite Marie Sexton book One More Soldier, that I will be listening to very soon. n I absolutely love that book

It was my pleasure to stay in touch with you during the hurricane – you mean a lot to me Tj and I wanted to be sure you were okay despite the horrible conditions. I know that many communities will probably not recover soon, especially Staten Island which will take maybe a decade or more, however it’s good to know that power is slowly returning to normal.

I’m looking forward to quite a few of these reviews, in particular the one for Jim Provenzano’s Every Time I Think of You. I’ve for some reason held off on picking it up for a while and am looking forward to Sirius’ opinion; also your review of Starfish and Coffee. (And, once again, I am sooooo glad you all are back. :hurrah: )

Hello Wave-y, yes Hello Wave-y, it’s so nice to see the site back up online.

It’s loading well, Wave-y, it was hell, Wave-y, it kept freezing, but now reading it is going fine.

I thought you were still unpacking. :???:

I’m happy you like what’s coming up this week but I love your reviews. :)

So you like Stuart eh! He’s already started to smack me around.

      1. Larissa

No. I still need to pack! I’m fixing up and arranging for stuff. This is me not doing that ;-)

I actually never really talked to Stuart, apart from seeing him around the site. Maybe I should change that!

  7. Pen

So so so pleased to see you all back up and running! :happydance: And I’m sure you’re all breathing a huge sigh of relief.

Now you’d better get back to recommending some more books for me  because I’ve actually started making a dent in my TBR list over the last couple of weeks.
