I finally read it–wow, it was great! I was a bit skeptical before I started it (self-published, etc.), but I’m glad I truste your review. GREAT book. I hope A.J. writes more and finds a publisher, so her work gets wider exposure.

Thanks Wave. For a self-pub, I thought it was a great finished product. Often times we see glaring proofing errors and shoddy…everything, but here it was definitely a prime example of how it can be done well. Good cover and there are even a few relevant illustrations throughout.

Hi Kate. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It’s always good to hear from those who have read it. There certainly are harsh parts to this tale — prison life is definitely not a stroll in the park — but I was amazed at what prisoners could get away with (at least in the Brazilian prisons).
