THE BLURB
Simon has to dress in drag for a party and doesn’t have a clue what to wear. When the man in the costume shop helps him select an Indian princess dress, complete with braids, Simon’s unaware that he isn’t a salesman, but another guest looking for a costume, too.
Charles has decided to fulfill a childhood dream and be a cowboy, if only for a night. One look at the handsome Asian man searching through the racks of evening gowns gives Charles an idea, and working quickly, he puts his plan in motion. Now, he’s got an Indian maiden to join him in his fantasy.
But can a desperado capture the princess’s heart? In this classic childhood battle, who will win?
THE REVIEW
Simon is appalled that he is supposed to dress in drag for his boss’s party — he may be gay, but he is no make-up wearing queen — and doesn’t have any idea how to go about doing it when he meets a handsome stranger in the costume shop who helps him decide to be an Indian princess. Little does Simon know that Charles is also to be a guest at the “fancy dress” party and will be fulfilling a fantasy to be a cowboy, especially if the adorable Asian is going to be there in the perfect costume he helped pick out. Setting his sights on conquering the Indian princess — and hopefully for more than one night — he is delighted that Simon expresses interest back.
My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys is somewhat of a departure for this author, but one I found fairly fun and light. A smexy little romp, there is quite a lot of role-playing and quite a few, if not perhaps unbelievable number of, orgasms along the way.
I liked the obvious chemistry between the two men and, although this is very sex-filled, I liked that both protags had interest in making it more. I perhaps liked Simon better a smidge, with his unanticipated hopes of taking the night further, but not sure what Charles wants, and his unexpected surprise of how he liked aspects of the dressing up. I found watching Charles getting into character — and both men staying in character — fun.
OVERALL
If you’re in the mood for a sexy little light tale with fun role-play at the core, this might be a good choice for you.

I agree with you Lynn, it wasn’t meant to be taken too seriously, a fun time and I heard from the author herself she tried that nifty new lube they have in the story. LOL A cute fun read that I enjoyed for what it was.
