Coming Up This Week January 10

It’s back to work for everyone and I have had to really motivate myself in terms of coming up with new posts.

Last week two new publishers agreed to donate books for your enjoyment, MLR Press and Dreamspinner Press  and this week Amber Allure is back from their 2 week hiatus. Many free books will be exchanging hands and I’m checking out the websites to see which books will appeal to you.

Today two new reviews have been posted. Kassa reviewed Love, Like Ghosts by Ally Blue, part of the BCPI series and I reviewed a fun book She’s Got Balls by Mia Watts.

This week’s schedule is still pretty light because I have had to change a few interviews since I was unable to send out the questions on time, so here’s the new schedule for January and February.

January 18: Steve Berman, author and publisher
January 20: Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban are talking about their new book Sticks & Stones, the second story in the series which started with Cut and Run
January 27: Erastes,
author
January 28: Val Kovalin, reviewer

February 3: Angelia Sparrow and Naomi Brooks, writing partnership
February 17: Patric Michael, author
February 18: Aunt Lynn, reviewer
February 24: Steve Kluger, author

I will update the schedule if anything changes.

On Monday, January 11 the Amber Allure free book will be Upwardly Mobile by Clare London.

On Tuesday, January 12 Erastes will explain “why westerns are like coffee creams.” You try to figure that one out.  :-D
Also on Tuesday the MLR “free” book will be Personal Demons by James Buchanan

On Wednesday there’s no interview but I may whip up a blog post for your amusement if I can come up with a good topic.
Also on Wednesday the Amber Allure “free” book is Schnickelfritz in Love by Dierdre O’Dare

On Thursday, January 14 the Dreamspinner Press “free” book will be A Strong Hand by Catt Ford

On Friday the guys are here to tempt you with their hotness
Friday’s Dreamspinner Press “free” book will be Tigers and Devils by Sean Kennedy

As usual, Saturdays are up in the air but the Dreamspinner Press  free book will be All’s Fair in Love and Advertising by Lenore Black

Reviews

JenreA Red Tainted Silence by Carolyn Gray and Finding Utopia by K.Z. Snow
Aunt Lynn  will review the last book in Carol Lynne’s Poker Night series, Full House: and Tangled Web by Lee Rowan
Erastes  – The Wages of Sin by Alex Beecroft
Leslie – Dancing for Jonathan by Anel Viz
I will just promise the books I was supposed to review last week: Saying I Do by Cameron Dane; L.A. Heat by P.A. Brown; Melting The Slopes anthology. Unfortuantely I didn’t get much reading done last week.

Till next week boys and girls :-D

Tell me about the motivation…I have nothing to do at work but browse the net. Unfortunately I can’t look at any of the good websites. ;-)

  2. LadyM says:

Oh, so much to look forward to: Sticks & Stones and Steve Kluger are just on the top of the list. And I can’t wait to hear what you thing about A Red Tainted Silence. Very nice. ^^

    • Wave says:

Thanks LadyM. We try to please. So many readers wanted a review of A Red Tainted Silence that I asked Jen to do the honours. I had read it when it was released about 2 years ago. That is a very long book and I had no desire to go back and re-read it because it was over 500 pages. :-D

I’m looking forward to interviewing Steve Kluger and I’ll do a post asking readers who like his books to submit questions that I can ask him, so watch for it.

I think you’ll really like Sticks and Stones. The review will be posted the same day as the interview.

Did you know that you can check out this site on your mobile phone? http://www.mobile.reviewsbyjessewave.com
There’s motivation for you while at work. :-D

  4. John says:

A free copy of M.L.’s newest book would be nice, but that won’t be available at the earliest until next week.

    • Wave says:

      John
I see you’re keeping up with the dates of the newest releases. :-D As a matter of fact the site offers copies of all Amber Allure M/M releases so Fires of Ballian will be posted as a free book.

  5. Ingrid says:

To *prepare* myself I am rereading the Draegan lords *g*. I am with you John.

It’s too bad I al already so well acquainted with DSP. I already have all the books. A strong hand I have in e-book and in paper

      Ingrid
I intend to post DSP newer releases as well as free books, so watch for them starting next week. I thought I would post some of my favourite DSP books this week so that those readers who are unfamilar with their books would get a leg up.

  6. Ingrid says:

A strong hand is a must have, if only to gaze at the cover a few times a week!

  7. MikeIL1969 says:

If Dreamspinner press is still offering items and letting you pick which ones the group might like, then I’d suggest Promises by Marie Sexton. It was released on the 8th, I bought it and finished it this weekend. It was excellent.

  8. Wave says:

    Hi Mike
Thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely put it on the list for next week.

  9. Mary M. says:

Squeee for the Kluger and Madeleine & Abigail interviews!!! You’ve read Sticks & Stones already? Damn you. Uh, I mean, lucky you. *iznotnotnotjealous*

    • Wave says:

      Hi Mary
I’m so happy that Steve Kluger agreed to the interview. Now I will need you to come up with a few questions. I will be doing a post asking for questions so watch for it.

I think you will definitely love Sticks and Stones and DSP books always come out in print right away.

  10. Arlene Rosenberg says:

I’m excited someone is reviewingA Red Tainted Silence by Carolyn Gray. This book is in my top ten of favorite MM books. I’m glad others will get a chance to hear about this great story, an I hope the review is as favorable as I think it should be.

    • Wave says:

      Arlen
You’re in luck because Jen will post her review tomorrow, so watch for it.

This is a pretty old story – I remember reading it a couple of years ago and it was good.

  11. Mary M. says:

Yeah, I know, the fact DSP books are almost always available in print, and quickly even on Amazon Canada, is one of the reasons I love this publisher so much :) . I have a gift cetificate I got for Christmas so I’ll wait until the book is out and buy it along with Amy Lane’s newest which should be out by then too :) .

About Steve Kluger, that’s a real coup you managed there, kudos! I’ll check what I wrote about Almost like being in love and Last days of summer and see if I can come up with questions. The obvious one would be why he decided to write in epistolary format, which is very unusual, but I’ll see if I can think of something else :) .

  12. Wave says:

    Hi Mary
I’m looking forward to your input on questions for Steve. I will do a post next week asking readers to submit questions.
