The Ticket Zugspitze includes one ascent and one descent. The ticket can also be used for the Zugspitze Round Trip with the cogwheel train, the Gletscherbahn cable car and the Cable car Zugspitze.However, the daily quota may be exhausted, especially on fair-weather days, weekends and during public holidays. We therefore recommend buying tickets in our online shop in advance if possible.
What is the difference between Zugspitze and Garmisch Classic : Garmisch classic allows for more hiking, as there are multiple lifts/peaks, whereas Zugspitze is one peak (the tallest one in Germany).
Is it worth it to go to the Zugspitze
The top of the mountain has incredible views of the Alps and part of the building at the top is also in Austria. This is one of the best things to do in Garmisch. You need to do it at least once.
Does Zugspitze sell out : It is therefore possible, particularly on the Zugspitze during holidays and on weekends, that the daily quotas have been exhausted and ticket sales have to be stopped. In the Garmisch-Classic area, tickets are usually available at the on-site cash desks.
Basically your need to factor in the round trip travel will take up at least 3 hrs. so there isn't much time left for you to visit the peak and the Eibsee below. Considering the price you have to pay(51.50 euros on both ways) I would suggest you plan a day trip, take your time to enjoy.

Is it safe to go to Zugspitze : With proper planning climbing the Zugspitze, even for inexperienced climbers, is a fantastic adventure. However, attempting this climb without the adequate equipment is extremely dangerous.

Experienced climbers can conquer the entirety of Zugspitze. Many climbers, however, underestimate the requirements of the total distance and altitude change. Generally this climb requires two days with an overnight stay in the Höllentalangerhütte.
How much time do you need for Zugspitze
Hiking Trails to the Summit of Zugspitze: There are five hiking trails to the top of Zugspitze, each varying in difficulty levels, but most taking eight to ten hours (one way) to complete. Most trips are split over two days, with an overnight stay in an alpine hut before attempting the final, steep push to the summit.
